| We are very excited to announce plans for the 2025 Recital! We will have 4 performances this year: Green, Pink, Yellow & Blue Shows. The majority of classes will perform in 1 show (in most cases if a dancer has more than one class that ends up in different performances, it will require a total of 2 performance days, rather than 4). We are excited to be announce a new theatre venue for this year’s recital: the historic Hart House Theatre, at the University of Toronto, 7 Hart House Circle. Located at the main campus for U of T, the theatre has great accessibility via TTC (a short walk from Museum station). Paid underground parking is available close to the theatre (across Hart House Circle). Volunteers Needed! Volunteers are needed to help supervise dancers in the audience during technical rehearsals and in the dressing rooms during performances. Our staff are busy with logistics such as technical cues, costume quick changes, dancer line ups, props and sets. We can not run our live recital without the help of volunteers. As a thank you, families who volunteer backstage during one (or more) performances, will receive priority recital ticket sales access (1 week prior to general sales). To sign up to volunteer, login to the Parent Portal. Once logged into your family account, from the menu select Register > Volunteer. Be sure to select the correct date for the rehearsal/performance you’re willing to help with, then select the role you’re interested in. Details about what is required are listed with each role. Recital Tickets on Sale Apr 28 at 3pm For attending the live performances, Tickets will go on sale Monday April 28 at 3pm. Tickets will be sold through the Parent Portal – login to your account, then from the menu select Shop > Tickets. Tickets will only be available for purchase online. Tickets are $37+HST. There will be a limit of 2 total tickets per family until May 11 (to guarantee every dancer can have family attend). As of May 12, you can purchase additional tickets as available. Please note that our staff monitor ticket purchases and any families who purchase over the 2 ticket limit before May 11th will have their tickets released and refunded. Digital recordings of the recital will be available for all families to watch and download at home. The cost for this was covered by the Media Fee (charged with the final tuition installment in early March). Links will be emailed in June. Costumes, Hair, Make-Up, and Tights Costumes are now being sent home (and will continue to go home throughout April as they arrive at the studio). If there are outstanding fees on your account, costumes will remain at the studio until all fees are paid. Costumes should only be worn for Photos & Recital Week (after that you can do as you please!). Tights have been included with costume fees are are sent home with costumes. In the event a dancer needs the same style/colour of tights for more than one dance, we have organized that they will only receive one pair (and you’ve only paid for one pair). Extras are available for purchase from the studio store if needed. Hair Requirements for Girls: Hair in a slicked-back bun, centre part. Bun should be in the back, centred at ear level. Bun-making supplies are available through the studio store if needed. (Do your best! We know some dancers have very short hair. It’s easier to do when hair is wet.) Hair Requirements for Boys: Spiked with gel. Makeup Requirements: Brown eyeshadow, Black eyeliner, Black Mascara, Red lipstick (Makeup does not need to be heavy, but we do ask dancers to wear some. The bright lights can really wash out faces and the makeup helps faces to appear clearly.) Company classes wear eyelashes. Our YouTube Channel has tutorials to help you! You can view them here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In Studio Show Rehearsal: Sun May 4 On Sunday May 4, we will be running through the full shows in performance order. If you wish to purchase photos, you will be able to view proofs and order online 4-6 weeks after the photo days. An email will be sent home when proofs are ready, along with instructions for ordering. Photo pricing information is available here. Photos are taken by class, both as a group and individually. If you prefer to only have individual photos taken, please attend one of the scheduled “Flex Times”. If you are unable to attend your group’s scheduled photo time, you can attend one of the “Flex Times”. No appointment needed, just come during one of those sessions. Please note we can not guarantee enough time to climb a silk during the Flex Times, it will depend on how many others are also dropping in. |
